2004 had four hurricanes hit Florida, four too many. Charlie took a sharp right turn after going West of Key West. As Frances was coming we were going on vacation to our condo. We were in the keys from Thursday, Sept. 2nd through Saturday the 11th. We almost didn't make it due to the Ft. Lauderdale airport closing for Frances the day after we flew in. The keys had manditory evacuations for Ivan, but Ivan went West farther than predicted and we were safe again. We kept an eye on Ivan and came home one day early because we were afraid the airports would close. After we were home Jeanne hit Florida, I think the winds were about 120 mph when it hit land.
These are pictures of the effects of Frances, the water level went up 3-4 feet and a lot of branches and leaves were on the ground, but I don't think the winds weren't over 60 mph.
